Set within the conservation area of Polloksheilds this extension is almost invisible from the street. A repositioned original stone wall conceals the extension from the driveway. To the south facing rear garden a new curved glass wall is set out using the centre of the only mature tree within the garden. This curved wall forms the edge to an extension containing a sunroom, spa/swimming pool and gym. The sunroom opens to a new terrace formed in stone to match the old house and the swimming pool is bathed in light from both the curved glass wall and also a series of rooflights above. Although luxurious this extension design is understated and gently sits alongside the old house without dominating it or the garden. A small palette of materials are used to keep a consistent finish inside and out.
