The single detached dwelling house adopts a linear barn style relating to the geometry of the former mill building – the oldest and most significant building in the general area. The floor plan is split over 3no levels to allow the building to nestle into the site, concluding with a cantilever living space overlooking the waterfall which forms part of the large extensive garden. A simple pitched roof profile follows the slop of the site and continues through to the garage design. The building is finished in natural high quality materials including vm zinc and cedar cladding with timber framed windows. A SIP’s construction system is used to form a highly insulated shell creating a super insulated eco home.
