Watershed House
a linear house cantilevered over a waterfall
Located on the edge of the countryside, this new home is positioned on site to maximise the
dramatic views of the existing waterfall, relate to the geometry of the adjacent historic mill
building whilst drawing on the form, proportions and materiality of traditional agricultural
barns.
The ground floor plan is stepped over 3no levels to allow the home to nestle into the site,
concluding with a cantilevered living space overlooking a waterfall that forms part of the large extensive garden. Modest bedroom accommodation is located on the upper level with multiple
staggered voids punctuating the plan to extend light and connection between levels and spaces. A simple pitched roof profile follows the slope of the site and continues through to the
garage design.
